2010 World Cup Just Around The Corner

The one year count-down to the 2010 FIFA World Cup has just begun.
Today, President Jacob Zuma in a symbolic move kicked a soccer ball in Cape Town's Green Point stadium to mark the start of the official count-down.
For those of you soccer-mad fans, who are planning to come for the fiesta, now is the time to start preparing for the ball of balls.
With all the stadia taking final shape for Africa's first world cup, the momentum of great excitement is gathering thick and fast.
Meanwhile the FIFA confederation cup begins on Sunday.
Almost all the 8 Teams taking part are in town. And it is expected to whet the appetite of millions all over the world towards the actual 2010 celebration of football.
I am getting my vuvuzela tomorrow!
I can't wait for 2010.

this one!

First i'd love to see spain win it.
i'd love to see Argentina win too.
and oh, there is all time, all seasons brazil.

and for ruggedness, i won't rule out italy, but hey they are the current champs so maybe a back sit is not bad this time round.

and i'd love to see Ghana win too. Ghana has a capable team i believe.

and o mine! I pray Mandela lives to be in the picture!

Hi Adaeze,
Yes. The question of finances in this season of economic meltdown is paramount on everybody's mind.
You will surely watch it on TV then. No?
I love football, but definitely not to the point where I can't control myself.
Like you, my wife does not get it. Is it a woman thing(the idea of not getting football)?
The vision's outcome will get blogged about pretty soon so stay in tune.
Have a fav weekend, Adaeze!

Yes, Nov.
It is difficult to pick a winner when there are so many good teams around.
As much as I support the idea of Ghana winning, I don't think it is gonna happen simply because our guys are not purring with killer istinct.
Argentina may not even qualify for 2010 for all I hear. My take is, it is gonna be another season for the Europeans in 2010.

lol...I dont' know. Some women do get it I think. I have tried to get into it since my husband is football crazed. But not too crazed, thank God. It's still rational. But he grew up playing football. I don't know, I guess I just think thy're kicking a ball around, what's the point :-P
Seriously though i do get it a little more than that, lol. I will be sure to watch the World cup though, thats the one thing i've never missed. Esp since its in south africa!

I suppose to most ladies it is a matter of trying hard to show an interest in what their partners are crazy about.
Trying to understand what drives your wife/husband is pretty important, I think.
